From August 21st to 23rd, Professor Xu Baodong from MARI, along with team members, participated in the "The 1st Youth Innovation Forum on Digital Earth" held in Beijing. The theme of the Forum is “Digital Earth in Support of Global Sustainable Development”. It aims to empower young scientists in the field of Digital Earth, promote the development of crucial concepts and innovative technologies of Digital Earth, and contribute to the global sustainable development by using digital technologies.
In the sub-forum on Intelligent Monitoring and Evaluation of Agricultural Land Systems, MARI students Wei Haodong and Cai Zhiwen presented their research findings. Wei Haodong's presentation was on "Multi-scale rice-crayfish field identification based on topology analysis and phenology windows" while Cai Zhiwen discussed "Learning spectral-spatial representations from VHR images for fine-scale crop type mapping: A case study of rice-crayfish field extraction in South China." They engaged in mutual exchange with other scholars during the conference. The forum to support the growing and development of young scientists in the field of Digital Earth and build an open, equal, innovative, and shared growing environment.
