2021 Summer School on Methodology of Computational Social Science

Schedule

Date: Tuesday 27th of July - Friday 30th July 2021

Venue: VooV meeting (腾讯会议)

Hosted by Macro Agriculture Research Institute, Huazhong Agricultural University

u  Overall learning outcomes. After this summer school, participants should be able to:

- explain what agent-based modelling (ABM) is and how it can be used in social simulation

- know how to get started with model development using NetLogo

- understand the role of the ODD protocol in documenting and designing agent-based models

- think about own research questions and domain from the perspective of computational social science

- evaluate different ways to use ABM to support research

- know where to go next to learn more about social simulation and find relevant  examples and literature

u In  addition to allocated self-study slots, it is anticipated that evenings during the summer school are for further self-study and reflection on the application of coursework on own research projects

u All times are in China Standard Time (UTC+8)

u Lectures are 2 hour time slots (120 minutes)
