On the morning of May 5^th, Mr Bai Yan, a researcher from the College of Public Administration of Zhejiang University, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Linkage for Multidisciplinary Research: Examples in Nutrition" at the Seminar of Macro Agricultural Research Institute of Huazhong Agricultural University. The presentation was hosted by Associate Professor Liu Xiaotian from the College of Economics and Management of the HZAU.

The presentation focused on the intersection of nutrition, economics and data science. The presentation was based on nutrition, big data, and the discussion of causality in economics. It provides a new pathway for students and teachers to cross research across disciplines. Papers published in medical, scientific and cross-disciplinary journals are presented as case studies, and are analysed in terms of key issues such as research problem setting, analysis of the disciplines involved, methodological thinking, data preparation and requirements, respectively, and he engages in an in-depth exchange and discussion with the audience.
