On December 29th, the unveiling ceremony of the Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences in Hubei Province was held at Huazhong Agricultural University. Chen Fang, the second level inspector of Hubei Federation of Social Sciences Circles, Yao Jianglin, the deputy secretary and vice president of the University Party Committee, Qing Ping, the vice president, Professor Zhao Minjuan, the president of Xi'an University of Finance and Economics, Professor Cheng Guoqiang and Professor Tang Zhong of Renmin University of China, Professor He Xiurong of China Agricultural University, Professor Huo Xuexi of Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, researcher Xu Shiwei and researcher Zhang Yongen of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Xu Xiaolin of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Zhu Jing of Nanjing Agricultural University, Professor Qian Wenrong and Ruan Jianqing of Zhejiang University, relevant leaders and teachers and students of the Academy of Science and Technology Development and the School of Economics and Management attended the event.

The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Zhang Yongjun, Executive Vice President of the Science and Technology Development Institute. Yao Jianglin, on behalf of the school, warmly welcomed the arrival of the leaders and experts in his speech, and congratulated the Modern Agricultural Industry Economy Research Institute and the Digital Agriculture Research Institute on being approved as key research bases for humanities and social sciences in universities in Hubei Province. He pointed out that the two research institutes should be built as a source of theoretical innovation, a place for integrating wisdom, a place for talent growth, and a place for discourse dissemination. At the same time, he highly affirmed the research achievements of the two research institutes since their establishment, and hoped that all parties would work together to promote the development of the school's humanities and social sciences, and continuously contribute new wisdom and strength to advancing agricultural and rural modernization and building an agricultural powerhouse.

Under the witness of the leaders and experts on site, Chen Fang, Yao Jianglin, Qing Ping, and Li Gucheng jointly unveiled the plaques for the two bases.

After the unveiling ceremony, Yao Jianglin presented appointment letters to Qingping and Li Gucheng respectively as the President of the Modern Agricultural Industry Economic Research Institute and the President of the Digital Agriculture Research Institute; Qing Ping and Li Gucheng respectively awarded the appointment letter of director of the academic committee of the Academy to Professor Cheng Guoqiang of Renmin University of China and researcher You Liangzhi of the International Food Policy Research Institute.
