On the afternoon of October 27, Professor Hang Xiong, Deputy Director of the Macro Agricultural Research Institute (MARI) at Huazhong Agricultural University, and Professor Jian Zhang from the School of Resource and Environment jointly presented their research on “Holographic Digital Rural Simulation and Construction of Agricultural Digital Twin Chassis” at the MARI Seminar. The event was hosted by Associate Professor Xiaotian Liu from the School of Economics and Management.
Professor Hang Xiong began by elaborating on the premise and connotation of holographic digital rural areas and the models involved, while discussing how to utilize holographic social simulation to achieve intelligent rural governance. Professor Jian Zhang subsequently explored the specific goals, implementation pathways, technical challenges, and potential breakthroughs in constructing an agricultural digital twin chassis.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Professors Hang Xiong and Jian Zhang engaged in an in-depth exchange and discussion with students on the topic of digital twins. They outlined the contemporary trajectory of “Data Model - Artificial Intelligence - Metaverse - Digital Twin” and provided examples to illustrate the specific implications of digital twin technology.
