The 2024 Social Simulation Fest, organized by the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA), took place on May 14-15. Professor Xiong Hang from Huazhong Agricultural University was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled “Policy evaluation with the simulation of micro-macro link: rationale and practices”.
During his presentation, Professor Xiong focused on three practices for dealing with scaling-up issues in evaluating China's carbon reduction, technology diffusion, and water conservation policies. In these cases, simulations were run with “all agents” in the target region. By comparing these three approaches, insights were gained into strategies for dealing with scaling-up issues in micro-macro linkage simulations for policy evaluation.
